Since its founding in 2003, the Goodie Two Shoes Foundation has empowered over 154,000 children through shoe donations. Founders Nikki and Tony Berti chose Wilsonart By You to create a custom Wilsonart® HPL surface for the foundation’s new space.

The story of Goodie Two Shoes is heartwarming and extraordinary. Growing up in a working-class family, Tony Berti understands the challenges that children face in less fortunate circumstances. Despite the odds, Tony excelled at football during high school and earned a spot on The University of Colorado football team.
He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in 1995. The idea for Goodie Two Shoes was born during his years with the team. His wife and co-founder, Nikki Berti, was inspired by a team event in which shoes were donated to children in the San Diego area. Her selfless ambition to help critical needs children organically grew into a formalized effort over 20 years ago. Since then, The Goodie Two Shoes Foundation has donated footwear to help children step confidently into a brighter future.
NIKKI SAYS,
“The impact is immense and instantaneous. We’re not donating toys or games; it’s shoes and socks. The gratitude shown by the kids is incredible. They are empowered to choose a new pair from a name brand.”
Nikki has personally experienced the long-term impact of the foundation's work. Previous shoe recipients, now adults, occasionally approach Nikki and Tony to thank them for showing kindness during their formative years.
Over the past two decades, Goodie Two Shoes has grown to provide 400-500 children every Friday with brand-new, name-brand shoes and socks. The incredible efforts are supported by a team of 2,000+ volunteers and the mission is always growing. Goodie Two Shoes recently moved into a brand-new office space that is larger, more accessible, and a better representation of the foundation’s journey.

“This new building represents the culmination of two decades of passion and purpose. We wanted this space to demonstrate how far we’ve come as an organization while showcasing our future and honoring our roots.”
How did Wilsonart® help deliver the vision?
With full-custom Wilsonart® HPL surfaces, complete with custom graphics and personalized details unique to Goodie Two Shoes.

“The initial idea was to use custom laminate that represents who we are with a fun pop of color. We wanted something that represented our work in a meaningful way.”
Nikki and Tony worked with Geary Company in Las Vegas and Wilsonart By You custom design solutions to make the unique design a reality. Graphics were created with a special emphasis on Converse shoes (Nikki’s favorite!) and the foundation’s orange, yellow, and red brand colors. If you look closely, there’s also a “B” on many of the shoes — a subtle nod to the Berti name and the visionary founders.
Nikki says that the Wilsonart By You process was simple and efficient. Their partners at Geary Company created the graphic, collaborated with Wilsonart to provide dimensions, and submitted the custom artwork through a simple online form. The Wilsonart® HPL sheets were created and delivered to the new office in a few weeks.
It’s not hard to spot the custom HPL sheets. A mosaic of shoes can be found on office kitchen cabinetry, general storage areas, and employee lockers. The design is striking, capturing the lighthearted spirit of Goodie Two Shoes while reminding passersby of the foundation’s real-world impact.
